Actually was a member under a different user name a few years go but life situation was such that I was diverted from hobby for a while and my old email got hacked so starting over.
Anyway, just re-introducing myself.
Have an MXT I bought used off CL and have just started using it and re-learning it again.
Been spending my lunch hour and sometimes a quickie before work hunting a little piece of grass not far from work.
Put a Sun Ray probe on and man that is pretty cool!
Plenty of clad so far but nothing too exciting.
But it sure is fun!
Just ended up buying a GMT off CL yesterday that was a good deal so will be seeing about a little nugget hunting with that as well.
Great people here!
Thanks!

Welcome back to the forum.:clapping:

Welcome back. May I ask what your old user name was? Lord knows, I've been here for years. LOL. Glad you're getting back in the swing of things. HH, Nancy

I honestly don't remember what I was using as my user name.
I can email you my old hacked Hotmail acct email if you'd like.
Thanks!

Goodness no, I just wondered if I remembered you from years past. Glad you made it back.

 Welcome back. CCH

I'm fairly new on this forum as well. Welcome on board.

What part of the country are you in for going nugget hunting? I live in the San Francisco East Bay area and try to get to the Sierra as time and schedule permits.

All the best with your MXT and GMT.

Hey Flash,
I'm in the Seattle area.
I've yet to do any nugget hunting and might not have much time for another 3 years (retirement) but I'll be ready.
I'm in Alaska quite a bit for work and have been thinking about the possibility of giving up taking my fishing pole and taking the md instead.

Hasn't Larry told you, I don't do any housekeeping.

Honestly, I don't have anything to do with that part of the forum.

I think that fishing is easier and you'll get better results in Alaska unless your work lets you fly to the good nugget hunting areas. Look up posts by Steve Herschbach about nugget hunting in Alaska. He has a website - detector prospector.com with lots of good info. I think he has retired his MXT Pro for nugget hunting due to the weight and swinging it 8+ hours and uses a F75 SE for that role. He also a GPX 5000, Gold Bug Pro and a Gold Bug2 as necessary.

Hopefully I'll be retiring from full-time work in a year or two and be able to go nugget hunting more often.
