Interesting upgrade from the D40

It is still limited to the AF-I and AF-S lenses. The price of the camera has been bumped from 599 to 799 retail.

The question remains, is the extra money worth the bump in mega pixels without the ability to auto focus on older Nikon lenses?

The biggest draw for many to the Nikon line of cameras is its extensive line of quality lenses. Unless the buyer is happy with manual focus, the D80 is still the camera to buy, in my opinion.

The whole concept of the D40 was for digital camera users to step up to digital slrs without mortgaging the house.

With the price of the D80 coming down, I think the price difference is small and the advantages are greater with the purchase of the D80.

I may be wrong, I usually am.
