New MXT user, Eclipse DD shooter?

Bigtbasser

New member
After months of research I pulled the trigger and bought an MXT with the additional coil, Eclipse DD shooter. This is my first detector. I was advised to purchase the instructional CD. Is this going to be helpful. I was told the DD shooter would be better for prospecting. Is this right? I live in Idaho where there are lots of old gold mines and vacation around Lake Havasu Az. I know it will take me months to learn how to use this unit but I'll work at it if my back holds up. Any helpful hints for a novice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, T

Yes, the DD shooter is used by many MXT users who prospect. Most gold is found in areas of highly mineralized ground. The DD coils handle that type of ground much better then the concentric coils. I found the instructional video a waste of money. Buy the- MXT EDGE -by Jeff Foster. That book is the Bible for MXT users in my opinion. Almost everything you will want to know about the MXT and how it operates. Good luck with your MXT- I think you will really enjoy it a lot. Mike
