New MXT Pro is chatty

Hi all, sort of new to the group....a lurker...I have just made a move to the MXT Pro from a DFX and find it to be kinda chatty with the 9.5 or the 6x10 DD. Is this just the nature of the beast if so just a re-learn process. I like the features and about 6 years ago had the original MXT but just don't remember how it behaved. This one is not brand new but is to me and not a mark anywhere on it. More later..Ray

Hi Ray and welcome,
Try relic mode with 2 tones. I started with a single tone Tesoro, and when
I got my MXT All Pro, I headed out in jewlelry mode with 7 tones. I almost cried
because it was talking so much. I quickly looked up a bunch of Monte's posts and
haven't looked back. I gain more confidence with it everytime out. Hope that helps.
Happy hunting.

If it's too chatty, turn the gain down as therover stated. Also I always hunt in relic mode, trigger forward. Welcome to the world of the MXT again.

I use relic mode also with trigger forward, and some times switch to coin jewelry mode to double check some targets. Seems to smooth out in relic mode and I can run gain or sensitivity a little higher and still be smooth sounding. Really like my SEF WSS 5x10 dd coil also on the MXT.
