New MXT owner with a question????

Maybe a dumb question but I haven't found any Indian Heads yet, do they give you the VDI numbers as the newer stuff? Don't want to be missing anything. Thanks

The IH will read lower than the copper penny will and notice it will read like a new zinc penny will, but deeper in most case.

You are welcome Bud. Just remember that soil conditions and other nearby targets
will throw off the VDI reading from those numbers. When in doubt ... dig.

Thanks again, I was having pretty consistant readings on the newer stuff and started just digging them and was very happy (new detector performing great) and then I realized nothing old in the kitty so I thought they must read different. Guess I was right, I still have a lot to learn and it's going to be fun doing it. I love this machine.

Bud, most corredoed IH's I have found read in the mid 60's on the VDI scale. But then again, my soil is very mineralized, and corrosive. HH Jim
