New mxt all pro coming....

I'm retiring after Christmas and rewarded myself with a new mxt all pro. I had the original mxt when it first came out way back when and have many fond memories of hunts and finds with it. Other than tones, will there be much difference??? It's going to be a long cold frozen ground winter with me waiting impatiently for spring. Lots of research and permission to be gotten in the meantime. Be safe and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone!! Bob

Your going to love the tones , ground grab and the back light . Congratulations on your retirement . Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and all here as well .

Sounds like a great retirement gift as the MXT is a good all around detector and congrats on your retirement!

Happy Retirement!!! You're going to love your new machine. Maybe we'll have a few good days and you can get to some tot lots. At least that might help the cabin fever with your new MXT Pro. HH, Nancy

Thanks Nancy. It will be in the 50's all this week with 40's forecast for the weekend. I think a shake down hunt is I order. I don't think the ground is frozen here yet as it was covered with snow part of last week.... Wish me luck!!! Bob

I had one and found it to be a great machine .I put an sef 8x6 coil on mine and it became ballistic......good luck with the machine.

I think we'll be getting out to do some detecting also. High near 60 and then the cold weather will be coming. I wish you all the luck and enjoy! HH, Nancy

Total buzzkill. I tracked my mxt and it didn't leave Florida until Wednesday!!! Still in Georgia as of today. No detecting this weekend..... Storm coming next week so it's going to be a long winter air testing and wishing for spring.....

That's a real bummer. Well hopefully there will be a small opening so you can get out even if it's for a few hours and use your new machine. Try to stay dry. We're to get rain tonight and the next few days also.

Detector is in the house...but we are doing mucho overtime at FedEx now until Christmas....even Sunday. Oh well, I got a great deal anyway, just would have liked to get out and try it at an old yard that I got permission to hunt. It will still be there in the spring.......

When I opened up the box......OMG!! Phil, at Myers Metal Detecting in Tampa Florida gave me a great deal and threw in a bunch of extras to boot!! So, today we are in a winter storm watch. Figures. HH everyone. Bob.

Wouldn't you figure! What a bummer. At least the yard will be there when you have a good thaw. In the winter is when I do research for the coming Spring to hunt. You're going to love that machine! That's great that he put in some bonus items for you also.

Try not to work too hard. Hopefully you'll have some relaxing days off for the holidays.

Enjoy your new MXT pro and retirement.I have mine paired with the 6x10 DD and it reeks havoc on coins.Good luck and HH.

Thanks everyone. I've never wanted spring to get here faster any worse than I do this year.....

Totally understand but this winter has been so strange.....tomorrow we're to be in the mid 60s. I've got flowers in bloom, and new growth on perennials. Just unreal weather.

So, no frozen ground Nancy?? Sweet!! Also, what are your favorite coils on your mxt?? Bob.

The ground in the shade was a bit froze but where the sun was, it was sweet digging. As for my favorite coil? I love my stock 9.5. I use that probably 98% of the time. I should put my little 5.3 coil on next time we go back to a private yard we've been hitting. When I'm cladding or working a playground, I use my BigFoot coil. I'm wanting to work with my butterfly coil but keep forgetting. Guess that's old age. HH, Nancy

Mine came with a 10 inch DD for the stock coil, and a 4x6 DD shooter coil too. I'm not well versed in DD coils and am thinking a 5.3 eclipse would be a useful addition. What do you think?? Bob.

That's a hard question. Personally I love the little 5.3 coil. I do not care for the DD coils either. But since you have the smaller DD coil, try it a few times and maybe you'll get to liking it. IF not, go with the 5.3 later down the road. JMHO. HH, Nancy
