ok now iam freaking out. was thinking of buying a new cz3d or gt and have read that minelab & fisher r coming out with both new models so iam scared to pull the trigger.i would hate to buy current models and the new models come out a few months later, my o my what a dilemma should i wait?

If you were reading about the new Sovereign the the Sovereign forum that was an April Fools joke. Nobody knows if they are ever going to release a new model of it.

Hi Robert, my way of quenching my lust for a "new" machine is to study up real hard on the older "proven" performers, and then start looking for the best deal I can find. For me that has of course amounted to many more detectors than I will ever use, but a great collection of "oldies but goodies", that will likely always hold much of their value. I find that I enjoy the "quest" for the oldies as much as any "new" machines I ever bought and find that it is much more enjoyable than paying big $$$ to prove/disprove some new tech, high $$$ machine that may not be all of what is said to be. That do happen, to often. There will always be plenty of folks to do the buying and proving, and plenty of the "new" ones back on the market before you know it. Oh,and I buy American only because it is simply the right thing to do.. That is JMHO, and it works for me. HH, Charlie

Hey Robert. Why don't you pull the trigger on something instead of asking everyone to make the decision for you.
If you don't like what you bought - I'm sure you can resell it for a decent portion of the purchase price - you don't have too much to lose.
Get the best machine you can afford for the conditions where YOU do the most detecting. MY humble opinion.

because i want 2 get as much info as i can before i buy and it damm sure won't b a blisstool. what a scam

barryny has a point. You could be detecting rather than fretting over a purchase. No matter how new a detector any of us has, it will become last years model soon enough. Besides, good models that are a bit short of new still do what they originally did just as well as when they came out. It's your buck and your decision, but in the meantime your passing up detecting time.

i aint passing up nothing. i got 2 detectors now why buy last years model. would u do that with a car? get last years model. and i aint fretting i am trying 2 get all the info i can before i spend that much $. so u know what u can do with that sunray probe

charlie i use a cz5 and beachhunter now they both have a lot of wear and tear on them and i think it's time for an upgrade. i think I'll go with the cz3d and a sand shark I've' only hear good things about it and i want another pi machine use 2 have 1 a couple 3 years back i believe i bought it off of therover. if i remember right. and what more can b said about the cz's. any way u right about buying USA.

u2robert, as a matter of fact, I would and do buy last year's car. Saves a bundle of money and still gets me there. As to your "probe" comment, my post wasn't intended to make you so touchy, but if you're that thin skinned, so be it.

Ralph says that would void the warranty...

All kidding aside Robert, as others have pointed out, every detector becomes last year's model in due time. Since detectors hold their resale value pretty well, it's not much of a financial loss if you decide to sell a detector shortly after buying it.

Have fun with the :detecting:hobby and save the freaking out for serious dilemmas.

i would add a blisstool V3 to my collection ,for depth it looks ok to me and i have a deep site .
on beach videos seen so far it gets the gold chain and others dont see it ,and the gold chain on salt water sand is the hardest test for a machine .many machines wont see a gold chain AT ALL .even if you rub it across the bottom of the coil !
do your own tests to check that .

Biggest scam ive come across is the F75 over here in UK its 870 pounds..I bought a Blisstool V3 and the Fisher has now been sold as it was nowhere near as good as the Blisstool on anything i tested against each other. Bliss was more stable to EMI, deeper and has better iron see through than the F75. Build quality on the Bliss is up there with the Whites so where you get the scam statement from i don't know mate but im sure you haven't used or even seen the new Blisstool..

Fowler has a point. Buy a tried & true proven model. Detectors are like any electronics. Buy the latest & greatest..and there is a higher probability of 'bugs'. Get something that has a good current track record. Detector improvements are usually small incremental improvements. And if a new unit to the market has momentuous improvements....I guarantee...you will be paying alot more money for it.
