I was told by a friend who talked to White's, that a new detector will be introduced after the first of the year!
This is exciting news! Has anyone else heard this news?

Yes it will be the MXT 2 improved depth, sensitivity
and at the same time more stable less chatter, night light, notch selector and a mode display selector too, can not wait this will be the top dog!

more depth?.....#####, i dont mind digging, but what are they trying to do, detect the rings on the fingers of the people in china?......with fresh batteries, my MXT will already do 12-14" PLUS on a dime/nickel sized item.
might be good for chasing those deep pieces of gold, but in my area, generally if you go down past 12" your in the hardpan.
ive seen it lots before. instead of hanging with what they have alot of pwople have to run out and have the newest thing. i guess thats great for some, but im happy with my MXT. i hope the price drops as id like to get another one for the wife..
i do bet the new MXT will have a price tag about like the DFX.........everyone said they felt the MXT was way underpriced for what you get...a TRUE 3 mode machine.........

something else to.......one thing about whites, there pretty famous for just changing the name, and adding a couple of small things to a "base" detector and calling it something new. i would not rush out and plunk my cash down until you actually got a chance to check it out ( like the difference between the spectrum XLT and the XLT E-Series)

Hmmm, my MXT must have some serious problems because it won't get close to finding a dime/nickle sized item at 12-14+", at least in any dirt that I've detected in. I might be able to find a tin can at that depth however...
DW

I can get that depth in sand on the beaches using the 14 inch ex coil.

It's a dog eat dog world. It's Christmas time, never believe what you read, If they came out with a MXT2 deeper model, it would kill DFX and other sales and would be a marketing blunder. Minelab has the same problem, you have to be careful you don't make one detector bridge over to far or it kills other products. They want to sell other units too.
But,If the were coming out and it was better I would like to buy one.

If you check this, and other Forums, about this time each year, the same stories surface. WILL White's be releasing one or more new models in 2005? PROBABLY! Will one of them be a "New model similar to MXT?" Who knows? Only the good folks at White's, and THEY aren't telling. Rumors are rumors, nothing more. And such rumors, at this time of year, are often promulgated by envious competitors. Nuff said? HH Jim

Doing a name search on this Forum from Feb. 1 until now, this is the only posting made under that name, so "Jose" is not a regular here. Hmmmmm.....
