NEW MINELAB ETRAC IN 2012

Looks like this one

I'm pretty sure I saw that on another forum. Someone admitted to creating that picture.

xp deus thats what that is.

top one who knows but it sure dosnt look like a minelab.

The Deus is a French made detector and very $$$ it is not as deep as the etrac and nor does it have the programing that the Etrac has.

I dont think it loosk like adeus at all. Some think its a Minelab Countermine detector. Looks lightweight though. HH Mike

Deus detector, only 300 dollars more than Etrac no extra coils to buy, more like 705 can switch to several freq.without switching coils.Depth as deep as Etrac, will find small items excels at finding gold.totally wireless 1/3 weight, stores easy many people in England switching from Etrac to Deus.Built new factory could not keep up with demand.Just set up US distributor.I would keep an open mind.Check it out.

I'm not Brand loyal so I'll add to what Prep said. The Deus has MUCH MORE programming than the E-Trac. I've downloaded and read through the manual 3 or 4 times. Have you? It is sort of like a V3i light. you can adjust the sounds and there are many expert settings.

That said, programability imo is overrated. I have the E-Trac for depth. I'm not interested in finding super small stuff, just a coin hunter. I hear the Deus does well on coins too, but yes, the depth is not as much as the E-Trac.

The big reason I may eventually go to a Deus (and this is what draws many people) is the weight. There are many light detectors, but this one takes the cake when you couple it with the performance.

Now, off to use my E-Trac ;-)

EMS,

Yes I have read the manual and yes watched all the videos and I cannot see the advantage in having that detector, other than the weight. I know a lot of the folks over there are dropping the etrac and other detectors as well. Facts are facts, there are places over here, that the ground is so bad, that you cannot even ground balance. So we agree !!! :buds:

I own both the Deus and the E-Trac.

They both have their benefits in certain situations.

Very simply the Deus wins on weight and the E-Trac wins on target ID.
For the US detectorist the E-Trac is a silver magnet and delivers great ID at depth.
For the UK detectorist the Deus can be programmed to focus on gold quarter staters or low conductor silver like hammereds which come in (on the E-Trac) at 12-06 and 12-12 to 12-20 respectively. It also has the fastest reactivity of any machine on the market today, again great for iron infested Roman UK sites where you are picking targets out from machine gun signals. So you use one or the other based on what the detecting environment is.

It's funny when I read so many comments and opinions from people who don't own a particular machine but have seen all the videos or read the manuals.
There is no way to know anything about a unit unless you use it. And using it is for at least 50 hours. Not swinging your buddies for 30 minutes.

My two cents.

We dont have all those types of coinage here in the states, we are a young compared to the other side of the pond. And for 1800.00 I will get something that works for what I hunt for. Not to say the Deus would not be a good choice. Just saying

Deus works like other single frequency detectors, but you can choose 1 from 4 frequencies. Tejon, Golmaxx, Fisher and etc..is the same, this is my experience, Have XP Goldmaxx and was near to get Deus but happely not :bouncy: to expensive and not better then Explorer or Etrac, if you need detector for smaller targets and for some targets between iron you can buy Tejon, G2, or similar detector for much more less money.

First one new wireless E-Trac, 2nd photo new wireless Deus. New wireless Deus said to be awesome, wireless E-Trac we will see. Can not wait .

Great, this thread was started by a guy with 5 posts and then the new E-Trac is confirmed by another with 1 post! Can I guess their IP's are the same, their English is (no offense meant).

Hello,
I'm french detector man and I don't use another name !
I have the information of a new minelab detector here in France at the end of the year but I don't know more than that.
It's the reason I ask you if you know somethoing about that ?
I have also the information that the picture I have sent is not the good. It's a creation !
Thank you

In all fairness, why make your first few posts about a rumor? It just makes your story less believable. Then the man who gave more information also spoke in broken English and had 1 post. It's nothing against you personally, it's rather how it makes the story look.

That said, I hope it is true about a new detector!!!

The timing is right on. I would suspect Minelab is due for another machine around that time or even sooner. It's been over 3 years.

Tell us more about your information.

Thanks,
EMS

to wait or not to wait that is the question.

I hope the New E-Trac has a bigger screen than that and NO wireless search coil. And Please, an option for headphones and not those Deus like "lites".

I wouldn't wait if I was on the fence about an E-Trac - if the release date is end of this year... Dec 21 2012! That would be nice ;-)
