New Minelab 14.5" Coiltek clone

I actually really like the colour, a bit like the old GP Extreme coils.

But I would have preferred a different size with options of DD and Concentric, as the Coiltek 14.5" all terrain coil is already there in all three frequency's.

I'd like to know where that picture came from. It's not been announced by Minelab, and in all reality that is a Coiltek coil.
Do you have a link to that information?

Chris Gholson of {sorry...I have to remove non-sponsors names}(Minelab dealer) has popped the info and pics up on his forum and Facebook pages Rick. He always jumps the gun.

I take it as a good sign anyway, as at least we know the XTerra's will continue, and should a new model pop up next year we know our coils we already have will be applicable in the future.

Yeah I really like the dark blueish hue too 7cents.

Thanks for the info! I'll be looking into it a bit harder now, but that's still a Coiltek coil regardless of who is marketing it.
And I can also assure you that the Xterra line is going to be around for a good long time. Being the first in the all digital design market means that additional development is far more likely than abandonment.

Yeah, full Coiltek mold for sure! I daresay that they'll be Coiltek made also.
The Minelab coil may be way of 'celebrating/honouring the XTerra range.

I've no doubt the XTerra's will continue, just very shocked the 305 was dropped, but even that makes sense now as it's only common sense that the entire range should take all three frequency's.

Minelab sent the email out on those coils. I suspect that they are trying to strengthen their brand by having the coils labeled as Minelab.

Great News! Minelab is pleased to announce that we will now be supplying 15” X-TERRA accessory coils, in all frequencies.

Minelab 15" X-TERRA Coil 3 KHz
Minelab 15" X-TERRA Coil 7 KHz
Minelab 15" X-TERRA Coil 18 KHz

From what I understand CoilTek made coils for ML in the past, probably still does(JMO). Is there any difference in price ? I know the sales price on CT is CRAZY high but i managed to get the 15" for $220. there can be no difference in the windings since the XT works off the same three freq. with a built in chip.

I spoke 2 months ago with a guy from coiltek and he said minelab has contracted them out to make all of minelab coils for the X-terra's from now on with minelabs name on it.

As per Minelab’s Product Notice http://www.minelab.com/usa/customer-care/product-notices?article=269779

Coiltek is making the 15” coils for X-TERRA branded as MINELAB

Other size Minelab X-TERRA coils are not manufactured by Coiltek, they are manufactured at Minelab’s partner supplier, Plexus.
