New Meter Installation is Awsome

I had the meter installed where the speaker was in my Sovereign Elite. It turned out better than I thought it would. I hip mount my Elite and the losing of the old meter and extra cable was reason enough for me to do this. So if you are a hip mounter and want that extra freedom I highly recommend this mod. Joe Patrick did mine and was professional all the way. He even tested it against different targets and provided a check list. Now I have to get my GT done.

Have you used it in the field yet? I'm thinking of sending my Elite in for the mod. I like my Elite better on land and my GT will be my beach machine. I'm just waiting to hear some feedback from those that have some field time as far as stability and accuracy. What was the turn a round time? Thanks!

No I have not been in the field with it. I did play in the yard between the down pours. Here in PA we have been pounded by rain the last three days and it is showing no signs of letting up. The meter seemed accurate while playing in the yard. But that is just on surface targets. This mod is only for the hip mounters out there. Putting the box on the rod makes looking at the meter awkward to say the least. As I said in my original post I really like how it just cleaned up the wire mess. No more worrying about protecting the meter from bumps & bruises & moisture. This was just a neat idea. I am going to ask for a vacation day next week & head to the beach, This nor easter might have made things interesting. The turn around time was about two weeks. But I did tell Joe to take his time. Two weeks ago I had two feet of snow in the yard. Joe did say in his notes that users might find band two more accurate.

I know what you mean about all the wires. Here's my hip mount setup. I'll give Joe a call in the morning. Thanks!

Crazyman what kind of bag is that you have your meter in? i can see its a nite ize pock it, but is it called anything specific?

I found this one in a hardware store. It's a utility holster for cell phones. I remember they had several sizes and this was the large size. I went to the Nite Ize site to see if I could find a ref. number for you but I couldn't find this particular model. It's a nice fit and you don't have to cut any holes for the wires. they are already there. It does have a top flap that you can close also that I just tuck under my belt when hunting. Good luck!
