New Metal Detecting Club in Texas

Jewelry girl

New member
Hi folks, Just wanted to let you know that I am starting up a metal detecting club in Smitville, TX. We will be having our first meeting Nov. 30th @ 7:00pm. The meeting will be held at 665 West Loop 230/95 (Chaparral office Suites). For more info please contact Michele Maher 512-237-1008 or email at jewelrygirlmichele@yahoo.com
Smithville is in the Austin, Bastrop area.
Thank You!
Michele

Did you know there is already a club in Austin called the Austin Metal Detecting Club?

Anyway good luck with the club and I hope it grows and prospers! As with any metal detecting or prospecting club, your club should become part of the Federation of Metal Detector and Archaeological Clubs (FMDAC). They are a non profit 501(c)3 educational organization that will keep you and your members up to date on any issues pertaining to metal detecting laws and help promote your club. Go to www.fmdac.org to find out more.

Thanks Nugget Hunter.
I had thought about checking out the Austin club but it is a little too far to drive every month. I may go ahead and join their club and make the meetings when I can. I was the President of the Galveston Island Treasure Club years ago when I lived there. We were part of the FMDAC and the Texas Council of Treasure Clubs. I am very excited about getting the club started. I miss not having people that share that love for Metal Detecting.
Thanks Again!
Happy Hunting!

Our first club meeting went GREAT!!! We had 17 total!!! We are having our next meeting Mon. Dec. 14th at the same place but we will have to find a new meeting place for future meetings that is much bigger. Most people that came are newbies so we went over basics and code of ethics and should decide by next meeting our club name. We are leaning toward Lost Pines Metal Detecting Club. I am so excited!!! Ready for our next meeting!
