Brand New In Box DFX from an authorized Whites dealer about 50 miles from my house. $550.00 I went down and picked it up tonight (not letting this one get away from me :clapping: ) Not to mention, since it is a purchase from a authorized dealer, I also received a $200 gift card to use on accessories from white (Christmas promotion).

My best find so far :bouncy:

Thats what I asked him when I went to his shop to pick it up. He just wanted to move his inventory during this slow business time for him. He also had some Prism's and M6's he was selling for the same deal, 50% off retail. Maybe he is trying to get out of the business?

Either way, I'm a happy camper! :detecting:

and have them run the serial number just in case it's hot. You know what they say, when something sounds to good to be true, it usually is and when you can buy a BRAND NEW DFX for half the cost, it's to good to be true and something that should throw up a red flag, especially since the major detecting manufactures has set pricing limits on what a dealer can sell a new detector for.

hot damn!
a brand new m6 for 350.00?..give me this guy's number quick!..
i want in!..i think ya need gloves to even pick 'em up!

regards!

To the concerns about buying stolen property because of the deal I got, rest assured that I did my homework first before making this purchase. He is a Whites dealer and is listed as a dealer on Whites home page. I have tried to help as many of you folks that e-mailed me about getting the same deal out, however he has sold out of his inventory for the year.

The store he owns is in a very small town and he doesn't get a lot of traffic for the detectors. When I went and picked up my detector from him, he mentioned that he demo'd only 1 detector in the last 3 months. I got the feeling that he is selling his inventory to get out of the business. I can not confirm this, but thats the vibe I got from him when meeting him at the shop. You have to offer a product line that people want to buy in your area to be successful, this is not the right product for his town.

Yeah, I can see where an Authorized Dealer listed on the Whites Web-page is going to be selling stolen metal detectors. Who did this authorized dealer steal them from? Whites or himself?

Now I can see if I went to meet some dude at a rest stop off the interstate and purchased it out of the back of a 70's van, I would be a little worried.

I purchased this product, filled out the registration card and demo'd it at his shop (which is the same address as listed on Whites Dealer Page). Come on, how many people selling stolen detectors fill out your product registration cards, take Visa as payment, and issue receipts? All from a locations with a big sign in the front window that says "Whites Detectors Sold Here"

Sounds to me like this dealer is not going to take a greater financial hit by not being able to sell the units at all. With the rumors of a new DFX, an upscale Matrix, and upscale Prizm as well, it may be this dealers way of freeing up some cash to place a new order for the these new offerings, if indeed the rumors are true. I was a dealer for two major brands about 25 years ago. It was a tough business then and I bet more difficult today.
