Greetings to all form members. Just a quick comment to say the CTX3030 beats all detectors I have used. Started detecting in the late sixties, 22 years in the military, and 20 years teaching electronic engineering technology. It took a week of reading the manuals and trying this and that with the 3030 and quickly came to love the 3030. My only suggestion to Minelab would be to include a master sheet to inform a new user how to proceed. I would say a. start off with the detector as set, b. install Exchange on your PC, and take a week or as needed to feel the detector out. I kept my Explorer SE for a backup and am thinking of trading it in on a second CTX3030.

I use a plastic sandwich bag over my display cut to fit and then adjust the length of the lower shaft to compensate for glare on the screen. Works very nice but perhaps one would prefer to use Zagg but I wanted my menu buttons protected.

Have a great day

Best of luck with your new CTX, it is indeed a great detector and personally! I have found move silver! Indians! wheats and jewelry, in the last 6 months with my CTX, than I did with my other one in 3 years.
Happy Hunting
Chuck

Welcome YDoc... It is a pleasure to have you on board..What part of the country are you in?

Retired from the Air Force then from teaching at our local university in Oklahoma. I am now 72 and playing! Metal detecting, collecting and restoring vintage guitars and amplifiers is about it.

Good for you!
