Man you are just a hop skip and a jump from Dalonega aren't you? Ya need to do some gold\rellic hunting up there for sure. I used to tramp all over that area years ago as well the other gold areas near my home when I lived in Greenville, SC. I used to find lots of gold in both areas with the old pan and shovel.

This is a great site. I am new to this site (about a month), but the members here have been a great help. Every time I go detecting now my success has improved. You and your wife have one of the best detectors on the market (take the time to learn how to use them), and you live in one of the best places in great country to detect. I would love to go detecting with you, but the commute would be difficult. Good luck in your
