glad to have you aboard. The weather here in the middle of the States is looking more like winter is just around the corner. The ground isn't frozen yet. But we've had a few snows and it won't be long until my "research-only" season begins again. HH Randy

Welcome Big Steve..

Maybe you could give me a hand? Found this half crown about 4 days ago...I found out it is 50% silver but can't find out the rest of the metal composition, can you help?

The coin was in pretty good shape till I scratched it with my screwdriver getting it out of semifrozen turf.
It was about 2-3 inches deep, using 10.5 M dd coil.

Thanks Nick

PS What kind of $ value these pre decimals have?

its in lovely condition mate,i think the coin is 50 percent silver and 50 percent nickel, theyre not worth a great deal, but very nice to find, where did you find it?

Thanks for the reply Big Steve.....Found west of the continental devide in Colorado.

Good luck diggin with your Terra:thumbup:

nick, just asked the guy i go detecting with how much your half crown is worth. theyre valued at about five english pounds-which is about ten dollars or there abouts.
