Thanks to John - Edmonton and Cupajo for all the Infinium info and pics of all of their great finds. This is the reason I purchased a Gold Ring Finding Magnet from Garrett. This detector does everything Garrett and both of you have described right to the tee. I have used a CZ Fisher Cz7a and the CZ 7aPro for about 7 years. In just 5 trips to the beach I have found more jewelry with the Infinium than in all those 7 years. Simply amazing is all I can say as I have only had the Infinium for a month!

I have found 6 gold rings which two of them have diamonds. This is also amazing to the wife as she has taken an interest in water detecting also from these results. Maybe beginners luck but the wife and I will take it.

I will post pics in the future of all the finds. Again thanks J and C for the info and pics, and thank you Mr Garrett!

Welcome to the Infinium side!!!:garrett::thumbup: I'm glad to see you're having a good time with the new "tector".

Your results for a new user in a month are really amazing, and I can only imagine when you master the machine (LOL)!!!:detecting:

Once again WELCOME!!!!!!

Thanks

Thanks Diggindirt for the Welcome. I find it pretty neat that folks have a place such as this forum to share experiences and share tips. I can only say over and over, ( after doing a double take into the scoop bucket and seeing Gold and Diamonds) thanks for helping a newbie get into the water and dig some GOLD!

I ain't got my sea legs yet as those waves make it hard to stand and dig. But man, to read, read, and read again about what a machine is suppose to do, then take hard earned money and buy it, then read, study and get reviews, then get into the water and hope things work the right way, then to look into that scoop and see Real Live Gold, that is what this hobby is all about. I just can't get the grin off my face when I think about it.

Seeing the pics others have posted of great finds really gets the blood flowing and the fever setting in. I can't wait to get back out and do some more treasure hunting. Thanks again Diggindirt, maybe see ya out there some time.

Welcome Fellow Hunter,

It's always great to hear from a hunter like you that has done good with the Infinium!

You have an edge over everyone, but LS owners especially if hunting a heavily hunted area.

Good Hunting Friend,

CJ

Thanks Cupajo, I agree on the Infinium's capability to locate the choice items from the bad seems to be it's edge over other detectors. You are also right from past posts that it does take a bit to get use to (from Lessons Learned Posts), however, those that put the time in and are willing to learn will reap the rewards. It would appear that you have done well this year.

What is your opinion about comparing lake beach hunting to ocean beach hunting. Would you agree that it's getting there before the other guy or is it because of the machine you are using as some targets at lakes and beaches really may not be that deep.
Also the factor of time of year must come to play in the equation. What are your thoughts.

I have never hunted a lake so I don't have any insights to share.

I know of several hunters who have done extremely well lake hunting and one day perhaps I'll try it myself.

Fresh water lake hunters usually don't have to get as much penetration to locate finds and because of the PI/trash problem most of them would rather use a detector with descrimination.

Getting there first is always the best way to hunt if you can and I like hunting the quiet periods before and after vacation season.

Some of my friends do very well in lakes with dive equipment and one uses a dive scooter to blow silt away from the treasure he finds.

Plenty to consider eh?

CJ

Pinpointing seems to be a key element to using the Infinium. I know alot of folks are using a Mono coil and I have given it some thought about changing to it. However, so far from the nice finds I have been able to get it would seem the DD coil is not a problem but pinpointing can be trying at times. The depth of finds in the lakes seems to be a factor only when a beach has been re-sanded as most are mud or clay-like bottoms around me. Some finds have been shallow and others I've had to dig down to.

Trash seems to be a bigger problem around lakes known a Party Lakes or those the city folk use as a dump when they go crazy on the weekends. Locals seem to take care of the beaches and these are nice places to hunt.

Hope to get over to the coast sometime a give the Lane a try. Weather here is a bit on the cool side for this time of the year.
Can get my teeth rattlin when I get out of the water. Do you use a wet/dry suit when you go out? If so what kind or type would be good? Your thoughts Sir.

I use 3-mil neoprene chest high waders as the place where I hunt has very little rough water and I just hunt "the dry" when it gets too rough to wade.

In the past I would use 5-mil and hunt the cold winter water too, but I am a little more cautious now at 68 years, altho I prefer the winter tides and there is no-one around to destract you.

This requires layers of warm under and outerwear, shoulder length rubber gloves with warm glove liners, and a very warm hat!!

Water detecting with ice floating in the water is an experience one never forgets that's for sure!!

CJ

Cupajo, you must be pretty fit to go out into the water with ice cubes floating around! But treasure is treasure, right? Sounds like a 3 mil would do the job for me. Thanks for the info.

The ice and me being inclined to wade around in that water are a long ago memory Friend!!

At 68 years I am a lot more cautious than I was back in the 80's.

I would have to be pretty motivated to do that again!!

CJ

Cupajo, I'm inspired just the same. Got out early today and tried for a short bit, found out that I just might want to charge the batteries next time. The trip into the water was short lived, no power, no treasure.

Oh well, left and tried some dirt fishing at a park on the way back and got a nice little ring with "925" showing with a cut Amethyst about 4 inches down. Sorry Infinium, the Fisher CZ 7A gets the credit this time! LOL.

Sometimes Bad luck turns out to be Good Luck. One of these days I've got to load some pics of the finds this year. It has been quite a year and I hope it continues for me and all the folks out hunting. Good luck to all. See ya out there.

I always make sure to charge the battery pack right before going to bed, this way they're ready for my early morning hunt!

If I forget to charge them the night before, I grab the alkaline pack with fresh cells and head out the door:biggrin:

I also own a CZ 6A too!!!

Thanks!

Hey guys, I get the Point!, Ha Ha. Me and the wife shall try again at a few lakes this week, and yes, I DID CHARGE THE BATTERIES, Geez.

Will let ya know what we find , the temps are starting to get back to normal and hope to bring in the Yella Meddle soon.

Jo and Dig, the best of luck to both of you also. See ya out there.

Well, all I can say is WOW! Did we ever have a good time with the Infinnies. First day out we found a total of 5 rings, none were great but 5 none the less. Next day we got out and I met a guy who was going to seven places, he had the Excal II, I went over the areas he'd been and WHAM!, High - Low GOLD! 14 K Gold band, 20 more feet and WHAM! High -Low again, this time a really big and wide Silver band Mens Ring. The Wife was in the sand area and it was getting late, I waded out of the Lake and showed her the rings, she said "Great" and we walked to the car. When we got to the car she opened her hand and showed me two 14k Womens rings, both had diamonds. Can you beat that? Then she shows me a Silver ring she pulled out of the ground. GEEZ, so much for showing the Wife the ropes! The Third time out we we went to a real small beach and I found a nice Silver ring with a Ruby, a junk ring and a junk Necklace. The fourth place and I found a really large junk ring made out of copper, The Wife .....she did it to me again, another 14k ring with Blue Sapphire and two diamonds. I have to say 14 rings in four times out was amazing, but having the wife score three gold with diamonds....priceless. Will have to take the "Diamond Girl" on all the outings!

Good Luck to all

Well "Grass-hopper" 1&2, it looks like you two have spread your wings and are flying!!

Great going fellow hunters!!

CJ

Cupajo, do you feel that your past experiences in metal detecting have helped you in the use of a Pulse Induction machine?
I feel that maybe the luck we are having may not be luck, but may be our past experiences have helped to build the senses in hearing certain sounds the PI gives to the Treasure Hunter. A lot of times its not just hear a sound a dig, but hearing a certain sound. What are your thoughts.

Master Po to Young Grasshopper - "If a man dwells on the past, then he robs the present. But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future. The seeds of our destiny are nurtured by the roots of our past."

My best finds have been when digging those "I think there might be something there" signals!

It is something I can't explain, but I know it when I hear it!!

Weak, small, maybe deep signals that often turn out to be a nice ring and sometimes may turn out to be junk.

It works with every machine after one gets to know the language of the machine and what it is telling you!

This is the "art" of treasure hunting and only comes with dedication and practice!

Keep digging those "maybe" signals and soon you too can brag about the three hundred ring pile you have collected!!

CJ

PS Nice quote from The Master!!
