New Member saying hello and looking for an MXT

Mattole

New member
Hello Everyone -

I am new to the world of metal detector prospecting and am looking for a unit that is versatile, fairly easy to use, and capable enough to grow with. I will be using the unit to look for coins, relics, and gold, and from what I have read the MXT is a good one to go with. Would you recommend this unit to others? Have you found your MXT to be good for the three categories of coins/jewelry, relics and gold? If the MXT is as good as the reviews that I have read I am interested in buying a lightly used one, and would appreciate hearing if you know of one for sale. Many thanks and good day to you.

Yes the MXT will do every thing you are wanting to do, and more!! Look at the posts there is one WHATS A WHITES XLT WORTH send this guy a PM he has a real good MXT he wants to sell at a good price:thumbup:

Hi Mattole and welcome to the MXT forum. Have you checked the classified ads here on Findmall? They have a nice list of items from great people. Good luck and keep us posted. HH to all, Nancy

Hello Nancy,

Thanks for the greetings. I will keep checking on the Findmall classifieds - looks like a great forum here. I see you are from central Illinois - I was born in Champaign!

There are or were 2 MXT's on ebay i bought one yesterday for a friend, the other one has approx 20 hours on it and is in great shape

That's cool Mattole. Are you still in IL? Larry goes down that way every once in a while. I was born in Peoria. HH and I wish you luck!

I left Illinois when I was 13 and now live in the wilds of Northern California. Quite a change from my roots in Illinois!

Does it all spot on. Cant speak more highly of it on gold nuggets for a VLF. The little 5.3 Eclipse is wicked on specimen gold.

Thanks for your welcome to the forum. I purchased an MXT from Jim McCulloch last week and it should be arriving today. I look forward to joining the treasure hunter's club!

I hope it's as nice where you live as it's been here in Central Illinois and you're outside playing with your new machine. I wish you the best of luck and a bit of skill your way. You'll do great!!! HH to all, Nancy

You Made a very wise decision to get the MXT as it is one great detector and has done well for my wife and me when I get a chance to use it.
I got my first one from Jim too as he could sell much lower then the big mail order company out of Florida and was very helpful answering questions. Because of this MXT I took on the Whites line of detector to sell local only along with my Minelabs and found that the MXT was the detector most wanted of the Whites.

Good luck and be sure to let us all know how you are doing and ask questions if you have any as there is some real great people on these forums.

Rick
