New Member Intro and Question

Hi All!
I recently bought a CTX from Bart at BBH. I had been using a Garrett Ace for a little while. I am wanting to renew my childhood hobby of coin hunting. I have not hunted (before getting the Ace) in over 35 years. Back then I hunted on a Sears machine with good results.

I am still learning the CTX...

I do have a question for forum. What is the object in the picture? It appears to be some kind of bracket. I have found two of them in separate places in two weeks. They appear as a silver coin would on both the ace and CTX. Seem to be made of aluminum with some kind of coating.

Thanks for any help!

Mike

It looks like it is a channel that would help hold two panels together. They usually come in long lengths to hold everything from small thickness plywood to larger wall panels together. It is hard to tell the size of yours but it could be for particle board that has a groove cut in the ends to hold the glue. What you found was probably the excess cut off the end.

Thanks for the help guys! Here is a shot of the CTX with the pictured object under the coil. I am using GH's coin hunting program. Usually aluminum shows up 1 box over to the left. Fe number is sometimes 12 too.

A special thanks to Bart. He has been very patient with my questions and did everything he said he would with the sale...

Looks like you've found Darth Vader's ship. I would submit that to Minelab for "Find of the Month". haha

LOL! Maybe that is why it showed up as a valuable find!

Yep Larry is probably right I have found several of them with my E-Trac, they always sound great and generally come in pairs!!

You found a plywood clip used to secure the center seams on roofs and flooring in construction.
Hope this helps your curiosity.
