New member in the V-3 club....

I ordered my V-3 today with a 4x6 coil to go with it. I usually use an E-TRAC but I am really impressed by this new Whites. This will be my first Whites machine.

Does anyon know if the older 4x6 MXT coils will work with the V-3? My supplier has one in stock but I don't know if Whites has changed anything to make it V ready.

Thanks.. I will D/L and read the manual and watch the vids this weekend. Are there any good posts that I should be sure to not miss?

Thanks!!

Julien

Hiyer

Welcome to the club!!! Mine came this week .... now all I need if the harvest to be started so I can out on the fields!!! Looks sooooooooo cooooooooooooool doesn't it. Just hope it works as good as it looks....:clapping:

I understand that you can use the elliptical coils so long as you avoid Tx Boost.

A big welcome to both of you Colin and Julien. The V3 has been accepted well in the UK and US alike. For most of us the V works well right out of the box while for others, it needs to be finessed a bit to match your ground to the coils and the V. All of the White's coils to the best of my knowledge works with the V3. The coils that have been V nulled will handle the extra voltage of the TX Boost assuming your ground will allow the TX Boost to be used in the first place. A V nulled coil will not be deeper or have better separation than the older coils, it is just designed to handle the high voltage of the TX boost.

jbow, congrats on the V....... if you are going to buy a new coil (like the 4x6) don't waste your money buying one that is not V nulled when a V nulled one will work better and for the same price.
Be patient and get what you want.

I disagree about no additional depth with a V nulled verses a non-V nulled. A V nulled coil will not only work with TX boost on but it also allows you to run a much hotter setup without overloading as well. My V nulled 950 on our beaches here allows me to run a RX of 15, TX on, a AC of 88, and a Disc of 85 (this is a very HOT setup). Can't even come close to that with a non V nulled coil without constant overloading even with TX off and other setting turned way down. Personally as a V owner I have a 5.3 non V that works with everything turned up (got lucky) and a 1400 and S12 that overload with set-ups way under the preset programs which IMO makes them less than desirable to use. I would not waste my money buying a non V nulled coil for my V. There IS that much of a difference IMO. If I already owned non V nulled coils I would definitely see if they will work like V nulled coils and not overload before buying another coil that is V nulled. It's a game of chance as to whether they will or won't ..... you just might get lucky.

I could be wrong on the V coils on the V3. I looked up Carl's post on the V coils and he said they won't improve the DFX. Somehow I thought that included the V, Boost off. Anne, Carl????

Inquiring minds want to know.

Larry V nulled coils won't improve the performance on the DFX ..... I totally agree with that statement. They are optimized for use on the V3. The won't perform less than non V nulled coils when used on the DFX either. V nulled coils work best on V3's when given a choice unless you get lucky and find a non-V nulled coil that can run flat out and TX on like my 5.3 eclipse did.

Unless I am misreading jbow's post I appears to me that he was asking if he should go ahead and get the non-V nulled coil for his new V3 that the dealer has in-stock or order a V nulled coil instead. My short answer is "get the V nulled not the non-V nulled".

That is correct, I know very little at this point.. or any point for that matter..

I haven't heard of a V-nulled coil. I will order the correct one.

If the price is the same, get the V coils for the V3. I have had good luck with the non-V coils that I have and I will have most of the V coils next week to experment with. I'm anxious to see if there is any difference in my mineralized ground. I can't use boost with any coil that I have.

jbow...... all coils built to be used on the V3 (V nulled coils) have a V embossed on the coil at the mounting bracket. Don't accept any coil without the V on the mounting bracket no matter what your dealer may tell you. We have seen posts from people who have taken their dealers advice and found out they bought the wrong coils. Seems with some locations the information hasn't filtered down correctly to all dealers and employees

Well, it's not that much difference in price, less than 50 dollars so i'll wait for the V-coil.

Thanks,

Julien
