Introducing myself. Long time hunter, long time lurker here. new owner of AT Pro. Just wanted to say thanks for all the tips. I've had my AT Pro for about 6 months . Traded a 1980's Garrett Master Hunter in on it. Love this machine. Still learning about it. Can out hunt my brother with his $1500 Whites. But living in Dallas the heat and lack of rain really puts a dampener on hunting. Have to do what you have to do. LOL. Hunt parks and grounds with sprinkler systems. Start early waiting on day break. LOL But with the break in weather I'm getting out more. You guys up north have it made, not only the weather but the loot yall find is great. Figure there's about 100 years more lost change in the North East than down here in Texas. Any ways here's a pic of my bling from a local school yard. James Avery cross and chain appraised at 250-300. Also dug up I swear 10 lbs of clad. One question I have about the ProPointer , I'm only getting about 3 hours of continuous use from a battery. This normal ?

Welcome to the forum! Great bunch of people here. Nice score on the goodies! As far as the pro-pointer is concerned. Mine I can use for about 20 - 30 hours of hunts before I have to change the battery. What kind of 9-volts are you using? I only use Energizer ultra's and they seem to do the trick. Has the pro-pointer ever been submerged in water? I would start by checking the contacts to make sure there is no corrosion. Might need to send it in to Garrett if anything. Hope everything works out for ya on that and again, welcome to the forum

Back to the Pro-Pointer.....you should be getting more then 3 hours time. When hunting, do you leave it turned on for the whole hunt? I just use mine as needed, and have worn out my rubber cover over the small switch . I go through about 3 x 9 volt batteries a year. You either have bad batteries or a faulty Pro-Pointer. I have also had bad batteries....,.

Your GPP. Not for even a minute. A back up GPP is a life saver. Use 5 pounds of that clad you found.
The most important thing is to enjoy the hobby, those wonderful sunrises and hunting with a friend.

I detect in Flower Mound Texas area in the winter months. Found some large cents and 2 cent pieces in an old church ground. Lots of new stuff, nothing more than an inch or two deep due to the clay like ground they have there. Can usually use just a screw driver to pop out the find.
