New member from New York

Hi all Ive been metal detecting for more than 20 years now.My best friend(who is no longer with us)got me hooked on this amazing hobby. He brought me to his friends house armed with his CZ-5 and proceeded to pull out two trays of coins.I kid you not. Most of them were old silvers. The moment he pulled out that first silver I was hooked. The next day I bought my first detector and the rest is history. Now almost 22 years later I own 23 yes 23 detectors.I use them all but I also have a love for collecting them. Here is part of my collection.HH everyone.

That is awesome. Thank you for giving us your background.. It's always good to get to know new members..

The CZ-5 and CZ-3D were the best coin finders I have ever used.I have found thousands of coins with them and literally wore them 2 units out..I just recently acquired another CZ-5 in pristine condition.I have found silver coinage with all my detectors but them 2 CZ's's IMHO are coin vacuums.I just love that old analog technology. Those suckers go deeeeeep.HH and thank you for the warm welcome.

Thanks for sharing.

I could indeed kick myself in the you know where.
I could have bought a professionally calibrated,cz3 d from a trusted person for $400 and I passed.

One day I will have one to go with my already purchased Minelab XS explorer.

I'm a huge fan of minelab. I have 2 E-tracs with sunray probes.I bought one for my 17 year old daughter but she showed no interest. So that one hangs(brand new never used)on my wall.I also have the CTX 3030.I do prefer the E-trac over the 3030.I just think the TID is better at least in my area. However I do like that target trace feature on the 3030.I am working on acquiring a few more minelabs to add to the museum.I too am looking for a Tom tuned Los Banos CZ3D.There is something about them old CZ's I just can't get enough of.My CZ-5 arrives today!I can't wait to air test that puppy then off to Tom it goes.HH and best of luck in your searches.

I'm just heading out to an old rental we own to fix some major water damage in the bathroom. I'll try and send some information tonight after I get home.

I would have been all over that CZ like white on rice, especially for that price.

I'm not sure if the moderators will allow buy and sell activity on this forum. Starting a dialogue may get deleted. I've seen it happen before.

I tried to PM you but because you are a new member it would not send my PM to you. You have to be a member for a certain amount of time to PM.

Try sending me a PM and if that doesn't work you my have to list your email address.
