I asked for advice here about what machine to upgrade to and thanks to the info I now have a new QuickDraw II on the way. I managed to find a new one left over from somebody's Christmas Inventory that has the bag, headphones, and digging tool with it for $160 delivered to my door. Should be hear here Monday or So, just about the time as the good weather.
I sure hope it don't show up Friday or Sat Morning. My wife has us booked up with family parties and activities and a baby shower for our Granddaughter Sat and Sun. If the MD comes in before then I will either be ready to explode wanting to take it our or I will take it out and be looking for a new home. :stretcher:
 
Great purchase! You will not be disappointed. For your sake I hope it arrives on Monday...it can sometimes be very difficult balancing family life and activities with the urge to swing the coil.

I just found out I will be safe. It did not leave the shop until after the mail trucks were gone for the day. That means it will get here Monday or Tues. I am really looking forward to it. I got hooked by a Discovery 1100 I bought at auction for $20. I have found some stuff and learned a bunch with it. I got my pinpointing down pretty good with it and learned what cans sound like under the ground. I can't wait to move up. The 1100 will probably stay with me and ride around in the truck all the time. I am a contractor and have quite a bit of time while I am waiting on someone to show up. If it will 10 minutes or more I have the MD fired up and looking around. Find a few coins around that way. I love this site and all the info I get from it. Thanks to whoever runs and maintains it.
 
OOOOOOO!

It came today. It was sitting on the front porch when I got home from the baby shower today. I only had about 45 minutes of daylight left after I got it put together and the batteries in it. I read just enough of the manual to see how to set it to auto notch and off I went to the park a couple of blocks from the house. It is lighter than my Discovery 1100 so it took a little while to get the hang of sweeping it rather than swinging it like a pendulum. Since I wasn't keeping it level I did have quite a few erratic false signals. I had a few hits and dug but was only trash. Finally right at dark I found a 1994 quarter. It was getting so dark and my hands were getting so cold and numb I almost didn't find it even though I had dug it up and it was laying on the grass. Kept sweeping with the QDII and scratching with my hands until I found it. I decided it was time to go home and warm up then. The earphones made a world of difference. I was use to just three tones and on constant volume. Just need more time with the machine in all metals mode and dig everything that beeps to start learning what things make what tones. I can't wait.
