new machines?

was just wondering if anyone on here has any information on machines that are been developed as i am sure minelab will be coming up with a new one to rival the xp deus?

Minelab is not saying at this point. I asked the same question!

Deus lighter and smaller , but for now Deus is not better than Etrac or explorer in the field. before was thinking to buy one, but after using the same company another detector Goldmaxxpower, decided not to. :goodnight:

Minelab will address certain issues affecting their sales - I think that makes sense. In America I believe the V3i is a little competition for them. But in Europe a lot of people are using Dues'. If you think many detectorists are older and that swinging an E-Trac could be tough for them, you will see why the Deus is selling so well (and I hear it performs VERY well here in Europe).

I love the machine in my short use of it and think it is definitely top 3 - depending on what you are searching for. While we are on the subject I'd like to see Minelab do the following with the next E-Trac.

Musts:
Brighter backlight and better daytime viewing
Better buttons (like the V3i, very easy to use with gloves on)
Faster response (processor)
LIGHTER

Would make sense:
A higher frequency set for smaller gold items
improved pinpoint sizing
Being able to go back to your last setting change when you hit menu, instead of at the top. It makes checking targets with things like fast on/off, deep on/off, etc. MUCH EASIER.
Cordless headphones
Clock (running clock or hours on a battery would also be nice)

WOW
You thought that through
Some of your list make sense and others I need to think about bc I never considered them issues
The deus is lighter but not in the same level as the ET for deep coins and special programs
And the V3 is not user friendly so I am not sure it is really in competition with the ET in the US
But there is always progress and I cannot wait to see what the next great MD will be

Regards and HH

I would add manual settings for all current automatic features, especially ground balancing. More modes and frequency sets, like like small gold, iron cinder mode, extreme mineralization mode, and some ability to try optimal frequency sets in severely adverse situations. Ultra fast recovery mode for those times you are not looking for a needle in metal haystack.

I hunt in TTF most all the time and I would like to be able to set the break point any where I want on the fe scale.

Good one!

Also, some numbered buttons for quick loading programs, so one can switch between TTF and an Conductive Program real fast. Like presets on a car stereo tuner.
