Anyone know if fisher is making an upgrade to the 1280 or cz 21? Not trying to ask a stupid question, but in the 1280s case its been over 20 years since major changes to it were made.

Side question. What happened to fisher pulse? They don't make it anymore?

I like fisher products I own a 1280. Works great. It just out performed a popular model from a different company in wet/dry sand on a salt water beach. Thanks. HH -Joe

All I know why fix what ain't broke and the 1280X has been a workhorse for years..

Doubt if a new water CZ is coming out...may make a cosmetic change or two but doubt it as I feel the CZ line is doomed and who knows perhaps a F-series water unit.

Don't know didily about pulse units...

Would doubt Fisher would be likely to do an upgrade to the 1280 or CZ21 Joe.
Doesn't seem to be the direction they have been taking. The Fisher Impulse
was discontinued some years ago. Was a very sensitive PI and would find some
very small stuff. I remember using one in the wet salt sand one day and it would
give a good signal on things that were so small that they were difficult to find even
after they were dug out. Kind of a rough machine to use in the surf area as you had
to manually retune it often. As you went out in deeper water you would have to manually
return it to threshold. As a wave swell went by and the coil lifted it would signal. Maybe
it was just too sensitive. I had the 10 1/2" coil on mine. Was very deep on the wet sand
that's for sure. Not so good in the water to my liking with all the retuning. Maybe works
better in deeper water where things may be more stable. Never took mine out past 6 ft. deep.
Your 1280 or a CZ20/21 would be a better Fisher choice in the water in my opinion.
I would rather be swinging and digging than retuning. Hope this helps you somewhat.
Good hunting to you Joe ! Gene
