New M6 Owner

Mike in Texas

New member
I just bought a M6. I have not detected since the late 70's,I used a White's Coinmaster 1976, so with all the new bells and whistles I am a newbie.
I would like to find out some of the tricks/quirks of the M6.
I am in Ft. Worth, Texas.

I would start bt learning the unit in one tone mode first.
After sone time you will go to the 7 tone mode.
This detector will go very deeeep but it will take a little time to get to know the beast.
I found a dime a nine inches and that is deeep for any detector.:twodetecting:

Thanks That is what I have been doing. When I find a target then i switch to the tone mode and then pinpoint and dig. I am having some problems pinpointing also.. sometimes the coin is off to the left and sometimes it more to the bottom and right (5 o'clock). Guess it just getting use to the machine.
Thanks for the input.

Mike,

Since I fully tested the prototype. White's had me write up a Tips Sheet which you should have received with your detector.

If not, you can email me directly at au4greg@sbcglobal.net and I will be more than happy to send it to you electronically in PDF Format.

Mike, The M6 is a very capable machine...Take it to a school playground where there is a lot of clad..Use the ID mode and you can find out what the machine is telling you quicker. It takes some time
to get use to the audio but once you do it is very rewarding...a great machine and it's depth rivals most detectors out there.. Too, don't swing the coil too fast, slow it down and Listen.... if you can, get a 5.3 coil, it will help tremendously...Thanks RichardntN
