for a productive go to / fill in spot !
Sunday I was looking for a new spot to try for a couple hours. First luck was to run into a local realtor/developer at a new construction site. I struck up a conversation with her and SHE suggested that I email her so she could contact me when they were going to develope any older locations. She said she'd be happy to let me check the sites out.
I then went to an old park with two sections. One section I had detected 30 years ago and found quite a bit. I had been back a couple times more recently and didn't do very well. I decided to sample the other section yesterday and only having about 1+1/2 hours, I focused on a fairly small area. Well, the results were very promising. I only dug deeper readings because I didn't want to bother with clad. My results:
3 IHs, 188?, 1891, 1903
1 wheat, 1919
1 Buffalo, 1916
1 merc, 1916
1 older sterling earring
gold plated ring - (which fooled me when it first popped out of the plug)
dog license, 1940
Turned out to be a good cross section of older coins and looks promising as a new "go to" spot.
By the way, a pesky, shallow signal that was keeping me from pinpointing another target near it turned out to be the Buffalo at about 2 inches down. lol
Thanks for sharing, Bruce
