New Kodak woes ....

First time posting here. I'm an EXTREME newbie to cameras and in a world of hurt !! I bought my first digital camera ever about 8 months ago. It was a Konica 400Z and I loved it !! I never took any pictures that were not in the auto mode. Inside or outside, the camera was left in auto. I don't think it EVER took a bad picture. It was just point and click perfection.
Well, a friend let me see his new Kodak DX6490 and it's awesome 10x optical zoom, and I had to have one. Thinking I was taking a big step forward, I sold my Konica and bought the Kodak. So far I have been VERY let down. My inside pics seem to be always too dark, but the biggest problem I'm having is this : 70% of my pictures are out of focus slightly. I tried resting the camera on solid surfaces and taking pics ... they were perfect. This told me it was myself and not the camera's fault. It seems this camera is VERY, VERY sensitive to ANY movement at all by the photographer. I'm not a professional, and really don't want to haul a tripod around everywhere. Does anyone have any advice before I sell this camera and buy another Konica like I had ?
Thanks

Hi, Pictures inside are dark from under exposure. Check the manual for indor flash pictures. Being fuzzy with this camera could be a slower shutter speed. Check in manual about shutter speeds. Where do you live? I worked in a studio for 10 years.

From my experience with digital and zoom the further out you go with the zoom you go the more unstabe the camera becomes. I do not use a Kokak, but notice with any other digital I have used that the higher the zoom the more shakey the picture becomes. I think my heart beating can mess me up sometimes. My camera will go 8X optical zoom and then a lot more in digital zoom once I get into that mode the camera is very unstable. Good luck and wish you the best.
