NEW JERSEY SHORE QUESTION--I FINALLY GOT

my Excalibur and am itching to try it out! Was wondering if you N.J. shore guys/gals can suggest any good beaches to give it a try at. I used to hunt A.C. with my Explorer XS, and did fairly well, but I stopped going there after they replenished the beach a few years ago. Has anybody out there hunted it lately with any decent results? I am really raring to go and would appreciate any suggestions as to which beach you think is producing! I live in the Allentown PA area. Thanks!

Larry...with this storm, who knows what can happen. Theres lots of sand moving around on all the beaches. I will be hunting Pt. Pleasant and Belmar tomorrow ( easy drive for me..AC is a bit far). Got 4 rings and a 10K heart pendant with diamonds ( hopefully they are real...did not get them tested yet) at Belmar last week.

I think at this point it's a crap shoot ( no pun intended ) as to what beach. Just get out there !

Larry, why would you stop working the AC beach??They still get millions of tourists every year.Probably the best beach on the East Coast.Don't forget from Florida to Maine they all get replenished.

All of the beaches except for WW have been replenished. With this storm that is still trying to leave the area your best bet is to go to beaches where there is alot of action like A.C. O.C. Look for places with a boardwalk and hunt each beach. It is hard to say what beach is better because there are so many people on all the beaches and it is so crowded in the summer that finds could be anywhere. But if you go where there is a boardwalk and alot of people around you should do O.K. Like you said it is a crap shoot and you have to be in the right place at the right time. I would suggest going to the beaches that you did good at with your explorer. Even though it has been replenished that doesn't mean that there isn't anything to find.I got a report from a friend of mine who went down this a.m. and he told me that it was so windy and the water was all the way at low tide and there wasn't that much beach to hunt but when this all calms down it should be interesting to see what comes out of Davy Jones locker. Most of what I heard has been coins and not much jewelry. Hey wherever to go Goodluck to you! HH

.....be sure and hit the northern beaches north of say Atlantic city....and beaches with sharp dropoffs I think that you will find many more pronounced cuts up there....the gentle sloping beaches have just been flooded and haven't moved enough sand out to get down to the heavier targets....so if you know any steep northern beaches take a tip and get out to them....HH....Brian

a couple of good storms and everything changes.Hunt the beaches you know to produce in the past.I would hunt A.C, if I were you. Tourist go there and they wear the Gold!! Good Luck! Walter
