New Jersey advice

Lightning Rod

New member
I'll be at Atlantic City Aug 4th-7th. I'd like to take some time to hunt some beaches. perhaps meet up with some of the locals. Years ago I use to hunt So Carolina beaches during vacations, sometimes I did well and sometimes not. I only have a few days to hunt the NJ beaches so I sure would appreciate some advice from the local beach hunters. How early can I get on the beaches. Hows the traffic from Atlantic City south to Wildwood or Cape May.

You can hunt as early as you want. I like to get the hunt in before the swimmers come. I don't like paying a beach fee. Find the tide schedule and time your hunting. I was in Cape May a few weeks ago and I was on the beach at 5:30. I then returned at 5:00 PM for the evening hunt.

Hey Lightning Rod, Just so you know, alot of the S.Jersey Beaches have had RECENT beach replenishment, and the DETECTING in Sea Isle City; Avalon;
Stone Harbor and North Wildwood have been TERRIBLE compared to PREVIOUS yrs!! WILDWOOD & WILDWOOD CREST and CAPE
MAY Beaches have
NOT had any beach replenishment, but you have a LONG HIKE out to the WET SAND & WATER!! Also you have METERED
PARKING near the beach, but you can TRY to FIND F-R-E-E Parking about 2 blocks away from the beaches!! Also, the
WILDWOODS are FREE BEACHES, NO Beach Tags required, but CAPE MAY BEACH is NOT FREE!! Hope this helps. hh,
Les Robinson

Meters are free in cape may till 10am.....

I'm about ready. And now that I've got some very useful info from a knowlegable group of beach hunters. I'm looking forward to the trip. THANKS
