New Info on F75 to help some confusion.....

Bill Ladd

1. The T2 and the MXT are both general-purpose single-frequency machines. However the T2 is not in any way based on the MXT.

2. The T2 was not a prototype of anything. It is a product in its own right that was being sold to the general public several months before First Texas purchased Fisher. It ought to be obvious that First Texas would not have been developing new products for Fisher before they actually owned Fisher and understood its resources well enough to commit those resources to specific projects.

3. The starting point for the F-75 was the T2. The mechanical design is very similar to the T2, and the user interface shows the T2 influence. However the F-75 electronic circuitry is not based on the T2: it's entirely NEW.

4. The F-75 is designed to work with both DD and concentric searchcoils. They will not be electrically compatible with the T2.

5. The question of how the F-75 will work in salt water has no definitive answer yet.

Most of the information that originated at the factory which is now appearing on forums is UNOFFICIAL preliminary advance information. Between now and production, changes will occur in both the product design and the understanding of how best to describe the product....

I don't know who at FT gave you the info to post but it is much appreciated!
I believe everyone at First Texas deserves a big  on this one!

appears to be at the company end. Different information being being given to different people.

Things like this are bound to happen with companys being new in this arena. Everyone is looking for that little edge. :)

I like the fact that it will use both the DD Coils and Concentric coils,Sounds like a neat detector. Also like the ideal the fisher engineer designed it,because he knows quality, fisher has always had well built detectors.I beleive its going to be a Goodin.

When stuff leaks out a little at a time there is bound to be some confusion.

Its cold and snowing here which is pretty darn early even for us. I guess I'll have all winter to study the manual once they get in on line. I hope it is revolutionary rather than evolutionary as the info states.

Combining the talents of Dave J, John, Fishers engineer (what is this guys name anyway) and the rest of the team at FT is a very good thing!!

Hi Bill,

Now I know lots of people don't like notching, but I want any machine I spend a bunch of money on the have it. I can always not use it... but I want the option.

So when you mentioned notching before on the F75 it really got my attention. The question is that since I'm not seeing any mention of it on the brochure, is it for real?

Hi Steve, Yes that got my attention as well, as it was one of the things I was asking for too. Especially if you can set your own in some way or have more than the usual 4; TABS, FOIL, etc....
Thusfar all's I know it that does have some type of notching. No specifics yet. If someone can get a picture of the LCD faceplate online soon I believe you'll see the word "nothing" there on the disc side.....

That and the fact that the controls consist only of two knobs a button and the P/P switch. It don't get much easier than that... Gotta love it!

Steve

It looks like there's 7 notch zones. Iron, Foil, Nickel Tab, Zink, Dime, Quarter.

Some of the adjustments are, Disc, Sens, Disc level, # of tones, Process #, All metal, Stat Motion, Threshold, Audio Pitch, Sens, Manual GB.

I don't have any more info, just looking at a faxed photo.

playing around with that process level to see how it affects performance at different types of sites. Heck now we can all finally know how bad our ground really is too. I can stop googling for university archie dig websites to see what the fe3o2 readings are around here. LOL

Tom

Hi Bill,

I'll cross my fingers and hope that the notches can be set in any combination. I've learned to love my Edge (another story) but the notches are near useless on it.
