New Infinium!

diggindirt

New member
Hi all, I just received my new Infinium for water and can't wait to learn this BEAST! I did do alot of reading on the forums for tips and tricks and will spend the time needed to really understand this detector. I also got to watch a hunter tear up the beach with one and was amazed at the depth he was getting with it (pulled up deep old missed jewelry). I'm sure I'll have some questions as I get better with the machine but feel lucky to have such experienced help from these forums! I also ordered the underwater phones and the 8" mono coil to start. I would like to get the 10x14" mono coil as I've heard this is a monster when used correctly. I just want to thank everyone for the GREAT forum and help located right here!!! One other thing, my first detector was a Garrett in 1975!!! I've had and currently use other land and water machines BUT, this is my 2nd Garrett now!!!
Thanks and HH!

I have a new and unused 12 x 14 mono Infinium coil and also the 8 inch mono and the 6 x 9 coils, all brand new, unused.Make me an offer?
I traded off my Infinium a few months ago.

If you use that machine under the right circumstances.....you will find items missed by others (as you have already witnessed). Go and have fun and learn it at the same time. If you have any problems, just fire away. Looking forward to seeing your finds...the good, the bad and the ugly!

Hey John,
I was just looking again at the discrimination article from Phil Stearnes. Phil states two additional methods for helping (if needed) to determine the signal before digging it up. One was to listen to the signal while moving only the front of the coil over the target as this will give a better lock on the high and low tones. The other one Phil talked about was to turn the discrimination up to 3 or 4 to see if the tone changes to a high tone which is most likely not steel. I just wanted to know if you've tried these additional methods on iffy signals and if you have other tips like it. Thanks and HH.

This is the one you were referring too?
