Hey all, I am a new treasure hunter, I purchased an Infinium LS with all the instructions, and a few extra free goodies (from Kellyco). After my first treasure hunt (shake down cruise) which I found 3 coins, several nails, and a deeply buried Pepsi can (at a local Florida beach) I have found the Infinium a bit confusing (my first detector.....but not gonna give up!!!!). How can you determine the depth of your dig with the Infinium? How can you determine that your target isn't a modern nail? I have used the "iron deletion" mode and still turned up a bunch of nails, and one place (local recreational baseball park) I turned up more nails and a huge screw. I'm not frustrated yet and I have ordered the 10x14 mono coil just because I have seen others saying they couldn't live without it as an addition to the Infinium. Any and all assistance would be appreciated. Oh yeah, one other thing when I got back from my first hunt I was sooooo hot and sweaty I washed the clothes I wore (so I guess you could say I laundered my paper money and the "pocket size" instruction manual......the money is very clean and the instruction manual is all balled up and solid and I can't read it....LOL, ordered a new one). It's O.K. have a laugh on me!!!! Oh yeah I am now realizing that Port Charlotte, Florida can now be nick named "The Nail City" after Hurricane Charley......all that's in my yard is nails (a lot) and all around town!!!!

Well it is a dig all machine until you really get used to the tones and guess what the target might be. Kinda strange you got an Infinium for your first detector...its definatly a "PRO" machine. But dont give up. Rusty iron always tricks my Infinium also, even with iron check.

It will get some deep stuff at the beach and relic hunts. I wouldnt use it in a park as you dont want to dig 2 foot holes there.

Do a search on all the findmall esspecially on the beach forum for "infinium" and you will learn alot from the older post.

Good luck!

Alan
