New In-line probe for Ace 150, 250 & GTP/GTAX model-Invader YF-1

Sun Ray Detector Electronics is proud to announce a new in-line probe for the ACE 150, 250 and with the flip of a switch is compatible with the GTP-1350 and most GTAX series specifically the GTAX 550, 750 & 1250. (NOTE: Early GTAX models including the GTAX 350, 400, 500 & 1000 are not compatible due to a different "center pin" connector used. The YF-1 was originally designed for the ACE series but with some R&D we found we could make it compatible with the GTP/GTAX models - at no extra charge to you!

The YF-1 features a new light weight compact 6" X 1" probe which weighs a total of only 10 oz. including mounting hardware!

We will be running an Introductory Holiday Special on the YF-1 now thru January 31st, 2006 for those interested. It will be available at all stocking participating Sun Ray Dealers. Go to our website at: http://www.sunraydetector.com and scroll the menu on the left to SPECIAL PROMOTIONS and click on the button. Thank you.

Ray I was able to try out the new Sun Ray YF-1on my GTP1350 and for the short time I used it, I liked what I found.

Hopefully I will get a chance to write up my first impression later this week.

PS. I mailed the warranty card today.

I finally got out for about forty minutes with the two newest toys, (4.5 sniper coil, Sun Ray YF-1 in line probe). I carried the GTP1350, a rock hammer, and trowel. I decided not to bring the Vibra probe 560 for this short hunt. I was hunting a small playground across from my work in a shopping mall. I hunted this playground earlier with the standard coil and the Vibra probe less than a month earlier with limited success partly due to the ground being frozen, no rock hammer, and limited time to hunt.(Over Lunch)

One the first sweep I located a dime approximately 3 inches down in wood chips. The smaller coil seemed to be working and I was still getting used to the Sun Ray. As I moved over areas I had searched before more coin sounds were heard. I dug every positive tone I received from the detector. Only two signals did not product coins, it turned out I was picking up the buried mounting plates and hardware for the structure because I was too close. It was also because I had dug a coin very close to each of these mounting plate areas.

As stated on this forum before you can get very close to the play structures and still get good signals to dig with success.

In one area I seemed to be getting two or more signals, so after digging up the first coin I used the Sun Ray and ended up finding four coins within a 1.5 ~ 2.0 area just using the Sun Ray without having to move the detector. Again I had read on one of the forums that another person uses his Sun Ray to detect the area around where he digs a coin.

I also found two coins in one hole using the Sun Ray.

In all I found 23 coins, (18 pennies, 1 Nickel, 3 dimes, and 1 quarter) all within the 40 minutes. With this being a new coil, new probe, partly frozen ground, and being used by a newbie to detecting. I think I had a good hunt. Three of the pennies were from 1960, 1961, and 1962.

I would say this will be a great combination based on what I have seen so far.

Later that evening I was with my son at Boy Scouts and had to go out to the car. It was dark but I knew there was a small park across from the church, so with the detector, rock hammer, trowel, and flash light I started to hunt near a large Pine tree.

I got my first signal on the third sweep. It then became a comedy act on my part. Whith my being new to the detector, in-line probe, night hunting, and then trying to juggle the digging tool / flashlight combination. Needless to say America

Followed the link, read about the YF-1, but cant find the "order" button on the info page what gives???? //// Nevermind, I went to your website and found a dealer list, Its on the way...
