New in box XLT

I found a local dealer that has a new in box XLT. The store owner wasn't in & his wife said he might be willing to discount it . I'm leaning toward a MineLab XTerra 705 but might go for the XLT if the price is right. Anyone know what a good price on this would be?

looks like the exterras go for about 700 to 850 new on ebay and retail on the XLT was 899 I am curious as to what his price will be not to many left new in the box.my choice of the 2 would be the xlt but I am partial to Whites and it will still have the 2yr warranty.keep us informed.

I haven't talked with the owner yet, he's out of town & won't be back 'till Aug. 21. I went back yesterday & got a closer look at one of the boxes. At least one of the two units he has isn't new, it's a "refurb"; it says on the box that it's factory reconditioned. I'm rapidly loing interest in them but I'll follow up after the 21st & post the low down on them.

If I see refurb on a box and your trying to pass it off to me as NEW...You've lost my business for good...

Good luck,

Good luck,

To be fair....nobody at the store said they were new. It's primarily a gold, silver, coin, & old paper money type store with a display of detector "finds". The units and boxes look pristine & I assumed that they were NIB. The guy's wife told me that she didn't know diddly about detectors & I'd have to talk to the husband about them and he's out of town untill the 21st. When I find out the price, warranty, and other details I'll post it here.

Try this before you talk to the guy. Call White's at their factory in Sweet Home, OR. It's a toll free #. Initially, it will probably be Mary who answers the phone. She is awesome. Ask for a XLT tech. She will attempt to connect you. Ask the tech what they do in a refurb of a XLT. Then you will know if its worth the money to buy it. White's is very upfront about the work they do. Ask for Todd. He's a super tech and a genuine nice person. Tell him why your asking about the refurb.

[size=large]KC was selling them 1 yr. ago for $750.00. got mine nib from a local dealer who met that price. so i bought from him.since then i bought the 5.3, royal 800 and the 4x6dd coils for it and two more lower rods. if i were to sell i'd say about $600.00 to $650.00. don't kmow if that would be high or the sale of the year. but thats what i'd ask. wouldn't sell for lower. there might be others willing to sell theirs out there. the refurbished may come with a new 2 yr. warr. that's my take.

I have picked up like new XLT's on feebay for $400.00 unless it has a bunch of coils anything higher isn't worth it.And I have owned to nice XLts in past. You have to be patience, and look for em but they can still be had for that price..

just remember that all the newest XLT's new in the box came with both the AA battery pack and the rechargeable battery.

I like White's alot.............but a XLT is not worth $1000.00 in my book in regards to what technology can be purchased today at that price.

I agree. Unless the guy offers a very deep discount I'll be looking towards an Xterra 705.

[size=large]a fool and his money were parted. anyone else willing to pay $1000.00 U.S. ? i'll sell my set up for that. even throw in the books, all the coils i bought for it and free shipping for $25.00 more, inside the U.S.
someone didn't shop around.

I never did catch up with the coin shop guy & went ahead & bought a Xterra 705. Send me a PM if anyone wants the contact information for the shop.
