New IDX Pro With Mr. Bill's Mods

RLOH

Well-known member
I bought a really nice used IDX Pro last month with the intentions of having Bill do his mods on it. When I got the detector, I did a quick test with 4 different coins laying on my lawn. I have some pretty nasty ground and I wasn't surprised to find the ID segments were off one block. I got the detector back from Bill yesterday and today I repeated the test. The threshold and ground balance mods worked like a charm and the detector balanced quickly. Every coin I checked was spot on with the meter. What was more surprising was how much distance I could get with the aircheck and still the ID remained perfect. I was able to get the sensitivity to the 4 oclock postion which is where the boost kicks in. I got a 5.3 inch coil ready to go and I suspect it is going to be a hot setup. Bill did an outstanding job and I am more than pleased. R.L. Johnson

You should keep this to yourself. You will be driving up the prices of used IDX Pros before I buy one. Actually I'm very glad things worked out. I have never heard one negative thing about the mods. I've been watching the classifieds for one.

R.L. I liked the modded IDX Pro so much I got two of them. I wouldn't trade one of mine for a new MXT or DFX.
