Hello guys
I just come to US with my wife for baby delivery in Miami
Because we will lives in Miami for few months, I bring my detector CTX with me and most important equipment for scuba diving (all except tanks and weights)
And yes, it is my main hobby at home
So, I would like to hunt on the beach and may be even underwater, if I will find the way to do
But I don't know local terms, rules and laws
And never search on the beach before (only did it on regular lands and underwater in rivers and lakes)
I ask help from you - give me sample things, which I should to know.
Nice if possible to meet and talk in Miami or near (I have car here) with any of you or drink cup of coffee and hunt together
Regards
Alexander

Welcome! And Congratulations on your child! :beers: I wish you much joy and luck on your experience here, both with your Family, and with your Detecting!. What Country are you from?

Just please, don't ask me why Russia fight with Ukrain - I also don't know what they does smoking or drinking in their Kremlin :rage:
My son will be born in America, as American citizen and I'm very happy from this
Is here any limitation for search in florida? Is here any laws about it to do? please, let me know please in few words. I'm really don't want to do anything against law here, but I don't know local rules.
help me please
Alexander

Welcome to the forum!
I do not live on Florida but I did review the beach metal detecting laws when I visited Palm Beach for a meeting last October. What I found was:
You can hunt Miami area beaches with no problems other than being safe; wading to detect and detecting sand up to the high water line is fine. Once you get south of the treasure coast beaches ( approximately Jupiter Inlet) there are no state law restrictions, but there may be local laws, especially near the city of Rivera. Additional restrictions exist in parks.
This is my basic understanding of the Florida laws on metal detecting beaches, I am sure someone in your area will reply to your post and provide more specific info.
Happy hunting!

Thank you for your explanations
There are almost clear for beaches near Miami
Treasure coast - very interesting place for find lucky coins with scuba, but it need more things, like buddy, boat, and probably local permit to search
If anyone look at this, I'm ready to participate in
Regards
Alexander

Welcome to the forum and congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your child.....good luck hunting Florida beaches!

Alexander,
Congratulations! I hope you have had a chance to get out to the beach and detect. Miami Beach can be difficult to deal with, mostly because of parking issues. I typically try to hit Miami Beach on the weekends around 5am or as close to low tide as possible. I would recommend going to Crandon Beach on Key Biscayne as well (Go towards south part of park), it is a laid back beach. I have found several gold rings there. I have not tried any water hunting there, but I have seen guys out there having great success. The only issue they tell me is that they do get bumped by a shark or two. Best of luck!
Matt
