new headphones

I was in need of headphones and couldn't really afford metal detecting headphones " I had a gift card to Fred Meyer went to the electronics dept. they had the equiv to the Koss 30 But I went ahead and got A pair pf Phillips noise reduction headphones U put a triple A in and it really cuts out the outside sound. I checked the freq on the box and they are well within the ones needed for the X-70 I've noticed I can hear on them a lot better and hear nothing from the outside world. Has Anyone tried these? They were on sale reg. $110.00 on clearance for $59.99 I was gonna get them last week at the 110 price good thing I waited! any feed back on this would be great I'm hearing good tomes loud and clear so I guess there OK to use for metal detecting. One of my hobbies is car electronics so I know frequencies and speaker capability ohms ETC... what benefits do the really expensive detector headphones have? Just curious thought I'd share my use of these noise reduction headphones. Grant

My preference of headphones may be different than others. But the ones I use have to fit well enough that I can use them all day without binding or pinching. They have to block out the outside noise. They have to have a stereo/moono switch so I can use them with a variety of detectors. On most of my detectors, I prefer the 90 degree plug over a straight plug. Straight plugs are OK on the Whites and Advantage. I want a coil cord that is long enough to allow me to sweep the detector or lay it down when I dig. Yet short enough that it don't get caught up when I walk. I like my Gray Ghost for all the reasons mentioned. As well, when the pads get hardened, a $10 bill buys me replacements. Even though I do use DetectorPros most of the time, I do like the deep bass sounds reproduced by the Koss UR30s. Sounds like you found a set that meets your criteria. And that is really all that matters. HH Randy

I have a pair of Blue Tooth cordless "phones I got from Kellyco that I use on my XT70, They work fine

I looked and only found ones for phones and computers which do not carry the necessary freq. There might be some around but I have not seen them I would think beings they are use RF outside interference would be an issue. Grant

Yeah Blu tooth would work I don't believe since it's a point to point device there would be no interference unless your cellphone is on it two! LOL Just kiddin well kinda. cordless headphones I bet you love the absence of the cord I know I would how much did they run ya? grant

My new red h/phones have a right angle plug and weigh as light as a feather, are nice and soft on the ears and the coiled lead makes my 70 super streamlined for scrub hunting. I have grown to really appreciate them. They are made by th opposition though Wh..es:biggrin:

get it where you can half th companies would not exist if they did not offer better products to detectors with different machine! Example headphone companies massive coil companies probes I could go on 100's of after market products. Grant Sorry about the language this topic just gets to me as much as we spend on the newest greatest thing! Grant
