New Headphone Adapter Quits Working!

DirtSlinger

New member
Anyone else having any problems with the new Garrett Headphone Adapters? I just installed a new adapter today, connected my Sunray Pro Golds and sounded great for about 1 hour and then no sound from the headphones but sound comes out of the speaker on the AT Pro!!!

Tried reconnecting both ends of the adapter several times but still cant get it to work...

Did you try plugging in the headphones that came with the AT Pro and make sure you still have audio coming from the jack? There is not much to the adapter...could be a solder point broke or a wire.

Lord have mercy......I'm right behind you! I have also got me an appointment with a Physco doctor.

I think you need to check your selector switch on your headphones. On my adapter using the killer B headphones my selector switch on my headphones can control the speaker on my ATPro. For instance when you are filming a target and you want to let everyone hear your target you flip your switch on your headphones and it switches the sound to your external speaker. Flip it again and it goes back to the headphones. Really cool. I hope you get your situation resolved. If it isn't your switch and the adapter is faulty Garrett will fix you up for sure. The guys over there are A++ in my book.

I hope it's a simple fix for you. I've got one but won't be hooking it up till water season is over, keep us apprised of your results!!

Only two conductors involved. Suspect a broken or loose connection on one connector or the other. I have the adapter but have not had time to look at it yet to see if outer shells can be removed on either connector. If they are not molded on, it should be easy to fix.

I built my own headphone adaptor- red and white wire to pin 1 (socket)- black wire and shield to pin 2 - try mode switch - one way for external speaker on AT PRO - flip switch the other way for pro gold headphones - that's the way they work. They work the same on the Garrett headphone adaptors. Thanks bubba01
