Hi Everyone,

I'm a new XT-70 owner, I am really lovin' it!

I have read most everything I could find on the 70, but still not finding those elusive Nickels.

No Nickels, well, you know the rest.

But as I've read, one has to be under your coil for the machine to find it.

Still on my 1st set of batteries, so I've got a lot more learning to do.

I have other machines (Garretts and Tesoro) fine machines all, but love this new 70 boucoup!!

I look forward to reading and learning from this group and sharing the knowledge I learn along the way.

hi History that nickle should be a 12 but it wouldnt hurt to also dig 14. frank.

Welcome to the site! Congrats on the X-Terra! I am sure you will do just fine with it.

Nickles are hard to find for me also. I find one maybe two in a hunt I have done well. Good luck to you with your new detector, Beale.

Yes I'm quite impressed w/ Minelab and I really enjoy the forum as well.

I have been MD'ing since 1970's, took a 20 year break,started up again in mid 1990's

Now I have the time and I'm really loving it.

It's not that I'm not lookin',but I haven't ran across many 12-14 returns.

I got a whole pile of 16's-18's (pull tabs),I'm digging almost all targets .

I have a ton of pennies(36-3, many dimes mostly 38's,and a few less Qtrs @ 42's

and a little silver woven ring

Thanks for the comment,I've tried a number of setting I'm running pretty much factory-- 8 for sens--prog 1 --Auto GB--Auto GroundTrac-- stock M concentric coil.

I'm retired and live out in the sticks, there are some places out here that are virgin, Picnic Pav 50+ years old on private property. I haven't ventured away from a little park so far.

I first want to learn the new machine, I believe it to be quite capable, but only as good as the operator.
