Sorry no pics, but I just wanted to spout off about all the coins I have found in my own back yard. Unbelievable.
BH 505
I found my first silver quarter, not 10 min. after I turned it on. Actually my first find was 4 min. after turning it on and I got me a penny. Took 4 min. because I had to go get my digger thing before I could dig it up. I must have found about 30) .01, 4) .05, 2).10 - one silver and 1).25 - silver. all right out the back door.
I guess you could say I am truly never really broke.
I used some flags to mark out hot spots in the yard and it was amazing how the pattern followed what I now know to be an old drive way to a garage that is no longer there. So, its not so much the coins, that turned me on, but to trace out a forgotten and abandoned drive way running out to my back yard.
Weather is starting to break and I have about 6 or 7 flags left to explore.
Still looking for that first piece of gold.
You know the one that was dropped when your car broke down, in the middle of winter, when it was about 20 below out side, but you just had to get the car running that night so you could get to work the next Monday morning. Caught your ring on a piece of hose clamp and decided to take it off, but it was so cold you dropped it. In the snow. At Night.
Then when you finished working on the car, Mrs.You wondered why your not wearing your ring. Who was she, when did you meet her, and your nothing but a two timing rat. As you drove off down the drive way she throws her wedding ring at you. Calling you names you never heard before. In January, at Night, During the worst snow storm of the year.
What history these pieces have.
I could right a book, if I can only find that first piece of gold.
Now that's what I call metal "detecting".
