Howdy....
I am a retired guy, 53....had the itch for a metal detector for about 30 years and scratched it, finally, today.
I bought a MXT Pro, from Larry at Big Valley Detectors in Sacramento, Ca.
I want to give a thank you to Bart at Big Boys, I spoke to him on the phone and he was very forthcoming with information, was candid about the various machines, and if I hadn't found a dealer within a couple hours of home he would have got my money. I just felt like spending it around here with a guy I can go see if I have problems worked better for me. If he hadn't been there, Bart would have been the one.
So...
This is my first machine. I knwo there is a real learning curve..I am good with that.
I am looking forward to learning it and enjoying some time in the field. I am a retired Sheriff's Sergeant with a spine that will set this thing off due to major surgery. This machine will help me enjoy some time outdoors, we live in the heart of the Motherlode country in northeastern Ca., and I have 12 acres to play on before I ever have to ask permission for anything.
Larry set the machine up with the 950 coil and I bought the oval Eclipse DD to supplement it due. I went out before dark this evening and ground balanced it and played with some quarters, I think the DD coil will go on sooner rather than later.
I will have lots of questions, this seems like a good place to ask them.
