New guy interested in Ace 250

I've been following this forum for a few weeks. I'm pretty new to metal detecting and my interest is mainly in the Ace 250 because I've read alot of positive things about it. I thought I'd get my feet wet and register so I can ask some questions. I've come close to ordering the Ace 250 but wonder if I should put that money toward something a little better. There's no use paying for features I don't need but I'm having trouble making up my mind. I'm a one metal detector kind of guy. In the long run would I be happier with something like the 550.

I would get the ACE over the 550, as it has newer technology and works better on the beach. It shares pretty much the same options, but is a lighter machine. Now....if you want something with a sizing feature, which will save you from digging lots of garbage....get the GTI 1500 or the GTP 1350. Good luck with whatever machine you purchase!<center>

Go with the 250. It's a real coin bandit!! Newer technology and real simple to use. But if you think you want more features, move farther up the line than the 550. Not that the 550 isn't a very capable machine, but go for the 1500 or 1350 and get the imaging/profiling features. Cuts down on the junk digging. JMHO

Thanks for the nudge. I like what I've heard about the Ace 250. I think that's the one I'll buy. I want one that's easy to use and doesn't weigh to much. Oh yea, it's gotta find coins! Thanks for the help.

THe 550 is a great machine but has been around since Hector was a pup. I'd go with the 250 as it's newer tecnology, light as a feather, a real coin demon, and lightning fast target response and recovery.
