New GT Hunts

New member
. Got my New GT in a few months ago but had to go to Africa for 2 months. (work) Both Hunts were at the beach and the 1st one I used the 10 coil. I found 2.23 cents(total both hunts). The 2nd on I used the 18x15" SEF that came with the detector deal. The 10" coil was very stable in the dry and wet sand all the way to the water. The 18x15" SEF was very stable in the dry sand, but I had to turn the sensitivity 2/3 CW when at the water's edge to keep it stable. I like the GT but still need time to get used to it. I will say one thing about the 18x15" SEF, is one big coil and looks like you have a UFO on the shaft. I would not think of using it in an area with allot of trash. I also need to remember to take it out of PP after I dig a target. LOL.
Look forward to some good finds down the road.

Frank even if you forget to switch out of PP mode you will still hear targets and locate them at the same time lol , ive done that many times on beaches plus PP mode can find targets deeper then AM anyway , i tried that 18x15 once it,s like swinging a snow shovel :surrender: HH Jim

Frank the smaller coils are better to learn with,I would sale the large coil and add a 800 coil. Good Luck Ron
