Hi all, just wanted to pass on a tid bit that may be helpful.
I have used Delorme Street Atlas with Earthmate for a number of years for traveling. I started using the maps to catalog hunt sites, and the next phase was to get a hand held for MD'ing in the field.
Delorme is going to release their own hand held that will utilize Topo USA and Street Atlas. It will have an expandable memory chip, larger than average display, as well as all of the other bells & whistles. Release was hoped for this past spring, but they decided to upgrade the design. Release is now targeted for around Xmas. The advantage is that the maps are of better quality than those that you pay a high price for with other GPS units (so we are told). I am awaiting release as I already have a lot of time invested in my saved maps, and the management will be real simple.
