Headed out to a lake today to do some hunting with the Garrett ACE 400i. Got lots of coins. It really hits hard on coins. The hunt brought back memories of several folks water proofing their ACE 250's and hitting the surf. I used a smaller coil as the edge of the water is usually quite trashy.

Looking good John! I've been following the new Ace series to see how they would be compared to the 250. Have you tried it with the Sniper coil yet? I just got mine a week ago and it's already started paying for itself around playgrounds and fences that I was unable to get close to. Just trying to figure out what my next upgrade will be either the 400 or the AT Pro. With the 400 I'll get the larger coil that I can swap to the 250 if needed and the 2 smaller coils to the 400 if needed. Then I can waterproof one of them for the beach. With the AT Pro waterproofing is done but I've got no interchangeable coils. Kinda leaning towards the 400 at the moment. My son has taken an interest in the hobby and wants his own for Xmas. :)

I was debating putting the sniper coil on the Ace 400i for the water hunt. I have no doubt it would work well on the ACE 400. I used to tag along the ACE 250 when hunting with my GTI 2500 in the woods, to get into those tight places. You could always crank the sensitivity wide open and it was very good at sniffing out silver/copper coins.
