new Garrett ACE 350 User in Vermont

Hi all - know this post will likely bore most, but just remember when you got your dream detector!

I just bought an ACE 350 with the new carrot pp. Both used only about 30 minutes. I'm on SS so I was able only to buy a 250 and regular pp before I found this one.

Because I knew I would never be able to buy another MD, I spent hours reading and looking. I settled on the 250 but really really wanted the 350. The first day I signed on to another forum, a member posted an ad for exactly what I really wanted.

It will arrive next week and I am so excited. I have watched the Garrett videos (excellent) and will watch them again when I have the beast in hand.

I will be working all the standard ground sites, plus some freshwater beaches on Lake Champlain. But first on the list is my own backyard.

Anyway just wanted to brag about, what to me, is a wonderful acquisition.

Thank you Garrett! BUT gee - they should come with T-shirts! lol

Welcome to the forum. I Think you will have a lot of fun with the ACE 350.
My 250 is about 11 years old, I always liked it a lot (and I still do) although it's primarily a spare used by the grand children.
ACE Machine are a lot of fun and you will really appreciate that Orange pin pointer.

Happy Hunting and keep an eye out for Champ/Champy on those beach hunts.

Thanks for the encouragement. Reading much on forums and in books so I will be ready to hit my backyard next week with at least a little knowledge! Only downside is that there seem to be zero detectorists anywhere near me, never mind any clubs. I think it would be much more fun to hunt with someone-- as in the British TV show "detectorists".

So here's hoping someone turns up--

I notice you have a whopping lot of coils. Nice! Haven't seen anyone anywhere list that many.

Good luck with your new 350, hope you post your find here so we can see how well the 350 does for you. The DD coil is an interesting upgrade over the 250.
 
FIRST DAY FINDS -- wx was rainy, windy, cold and then snow. Sigh.
But here are my backyard finds. Square nail was about 3 inches down, blue truck (TootsieToy about 5 inches down), and the green Matchbox (wheels intact) was down about 6 inches across the yard from the truck.

Hope the sun warms things up today so I can get out, but last night it got down to 20 -- so I'm not hoping for much.

Hope you are getting out and enjoying our late spring with your Garrett Ace 350! I have the 400 and really like it a lot! Garrett makes a great unit!
