new fisher?

dave the ferret

New member
Ive heard on the grapevine about a new machine, if it is dual frequency it will be good on the beach, just like the cz's.and it wants to be the same size, shape as the f75 with a built in stand. About the same weight too,if so it will be a good detector, the ferret........

That one has been floating around the net of some time now.
There is some truth , but when to is released is antibody's guess

Fisher always has new products under development. And, the Internet always has new rumors under development.

Haven't heard anything myself, but read a lot of chaffe.

I'm sure there's always something new in the works. A lot goes into something new though and with the darkside throwing out all those new options and a super marketing scheme it all depends on the percieved needs of the business, at the business end as much as the wishes of the end users.

P.S. I'm going out to hit some totlots with my old turn-on and go Fisher this morning.

They aren't going to reveal anything about a new machine until it is ready for marketing and anything you see or read on the internet (or anywhere else) for that matter is just speculation. They have said this time and time again. The most you can find out about what they are up to is to ready Dave J's excellent white papers posted on the fisher and tek websites. They are really worthwhile reading no matter what, but do have a few hints about what they are working on. There is one white paper that makes me drool for a new machine after reading what they are shooting for. However I am happy waiting for their schedule cause I know the wait will be worth it and the next high end machine they launch will really be a step forward and not just a repackaging of what they have now with a few new bells and whistles.

Of course it probably doesn't hurt to give them a poke every now and then to remind them that just about every other detector company has released at least one new model since the last new model they introduced :poke: Just kidding Dave

You mean like "Really looking forward to that new light weight 3.6x18 coil for the F75 series. Can't wait to sweep the entire area quickly to 9 inches deep. Will be able to get rid of many of my other detectors when that coil comes out". ?
Cheers,

Very true statements! That my friend is NOT a rumor! lol Thanks Dave!

Major companies including Fisher are always experimenting....sometimes the wait is worth it as many rush their units out causing recalls and such.

Rumors are just that (rumors) until they hit the bricks....personally I would send prototypes to experience ground pounder detectorists before release and get some input as in the long run would results getting direct input from the field and in the long run get lots of bugs out of the units before they hit the bricks..

I'd love to see a sweet new Fisher detector. With the new all terrain style detectors the other guys are putting on the market, it would be great if First Texas had a similar offering. I'm a big fan of the company due to the success I've had with Bounty Hunters, Teks and my F75. I've seen the new 3030 and have been tempted, but I would prefer a sweet new Fisher multi frequency machine, that was waterproof, and still retained the super fast recovery speed that my F75 has. One can dream :)

Is this what you're talking about?

"There are many ways in which detectors in general can be improved in the future. However, the ones that
excite me most are ones which I can't talk about until they're out of engineering department and onto the
production line being offered for sale."
