NEW FISHER F70 QUESTION?

WIDEOPEN

New member
Hey guys.
I am new to this forum, so hello all! :yo:

I just received shipment of a brand new Fisher F70.
Its is as expected, barely turned on so far.

Question for F70 guys....

Is the part that has batteris and speaker supposed to wiggle freely?
I have tightened screw in handle snuggly but it still wiggles?
Just dont seem right.

Welcome Wideopen. No, it should not wiggle. I've had my 70 for 2 years and never had that issue.

It should be solid...I tried to take that box off of my 70 once...trying to remember if theres a few little screws that come in from the top side?...I believe there are...they might need a gentle snug...

Welcome Wideopen!

OK yall I got it.
Just a little more tightening the front screw in shaft.
Like maybe a burr on threads, was afraid of stripping but I got it.
I got the 10" concentric coil which I have never used anything but a DD.

Now to get started on learning curve, but after explorer should be peice of cake?

A piece of cake?
I would describe it as one of the most scrumptious and flavorful cakes you might ever taste.
Right out of the box it will satisfy just about any palate, but look deeper into the complexity of its ingredients and the level of enjoyment is unlimited.
I have been swinging this thing for a full year now, I have attempted to learn and understand as much of those complex ingredients as I possibly can and I have learned much...found much, but in reality I have barely scratched the surface of its capability.
And my jaw is aching from dropping so much along my journey.

Basic skills are easy to learn and understand, advanced skills and understanding are not quite as easy but well worth spending time to learn and experience and so much fun if you attempt it...which I recommend, heartily.

There is much information out there about this underlying complexity, I found it, read it over and over, always look for more and absorb as much as I can.
Then I try these advanced ideas in the field and I am almost surprised that they work, and work well they certainly do.

If you want a hint of how deep this thing gets and can get performance-wise here is just a hint of some of that.
There is much more.
Always keep in mind that most info written about the basic performance of the F75, F70 and T2 usually applies to all in most cases because they are all built on the same platform.

Thanks for the links Revier.
Read them all and will again I'm sure.

It might be a while before I get to spend much time with the F70, but I just had to have it now.
Now is when we go to the wood since all deer hunters out. That means ATPRO, a cheapo knockaround detector.

Your 70 and your Pro will really get along well! I also have both and they really make a great team!

Heres a trick you may enjoy...I start out with fresh batteries in my Pro, and when they drop off a click or two after @15hrs,, I take them out and put them in my 70 and get another easy 15 hrs more hunting time out of them!

The Pro dont like half deads, it begins to miss stuff and get goofy, but the 70 gobbles those 'half deads' up and you can run them right down to zero...plus they sort of both share the same language, so its no problem to switch from one to the other and have to 'reset' your brain's translation sector..
Mud.
