I want to try something new here. I would like to hear from everyone, their brother, AND their dogs. What size and type of search coils would you like to see, and for which models of Fisher Detectors?
To start it off, I'd like 5" loops for the EXCEL,C$ and EDGE. There is a loop called a "SHOOTER COIL", which is a 4"X6" elliptical coil out for Whites units, and it has a reputation of being a real killer in trashy areas. Due to Fisher's better target separation it should be even better on a Fisher. Also, the 14" loop for the Goldstrike is still in Limbo. A 5" to 6" Co-ax would be great because it is shielded from the top and sides from electrical interference, and it can be placed right next to a fence and work perfectly. The Co-ax is also a total scan so there is no dead spots, but at the same time it is a slow responding design, which might in some way aid in figuring target size.
Years ago FRL made a widescan for the 1200 series detectors. Give us something on the line of 7" X 9" or 10" X 12" elliptical loops, and make major cut-outs like Tesoro on their 10 X 12 umax detectors loops. That way their will be less drag in the water, and less bottom area for mud to collect on-you know what I mean if you have ever gotten into black gumbo mud, or red clay; and they would also be lighter.
Its not just Fisher that stands to gain, but Discovery, Coil-tech, Sun-ray and others. If we can prove there is a true market demand, someone will listen. They always do when $$$ talks.
SO JOIN IN.
-One final thought; the CZ is a GONER, so you might pick up an extra if you have any spare change. The day will come when CZs are few and the price is high-
